I think we will just leave it that a player is not eliminated in Classic, only so if they resign. This will change in 3rd Cycle. This in keeping with the theme to finish off design aspects of 2nd Cycle and move on, 4th Scenario not withstanding.

Just a quick thought, we all play the game for fun and it is a game of CONQUEST, not a game of stand alone diplomacy or war game but a combination of both to a means to victory. Each kingdom has unique means to accomplish this, UN is very different then most as are wizards different then military but all have same chance to win by REX but by different means.

There is no reason why we cannot have both SVC games and REX is there? Choice is good and one last thought....maybe Status points should only be used or counted at the time the game ends by REX or SVC. As some kingdoms start fast and rack up points and then are destroyed and a slow developing kingdom finishes fast but is out pointed by the other kingdom that might be eliminated or destroyed at end game. If it is a game of conquest then only the tally at game end should be used not through out? Just an opinion. This might calm the hard feelings that some games caused by results?

There is some merit here. Does it matter how you started? Or is all about how you finish? I wouldn't mind playing a game that doesn't track status points at all except for when it scores the game at the end. 

I have never understood the concept of assigning status points to something, but only gives a fraction of those as acrued during the scoring turns.

Alternately, the game could track status points every turn, but just to show where you stand.
