This is very laborious and requires a lot of communication (and trust) and so I think everyone does some portion of sharing. The whole map may not develop into teams but there will certainly be some allied kingdoms working in some degree of concert so there is additional pressure to keep active communication. My problem is that I am always feeling as though more could/should be done/coordinated and that if I'm not super on top of my communication with a lot of different players then I am perhaps at a disadvantage.

I think it would be very hard to play a full diplomacy game without an ally or allies and NAP's. But maybe I'm overrating the need, IDK.

In an Anon game I just have to worry about myself and my agenda. Don't have to ask for information or favors or give any. And as Cloud says it is much faster to get the ANON game orders done which allows me to focus on more games.

I agree with all that is said here.

I would further submit that the "REALLY" coordinating among allies too often leads to 3 v 1 (which I despise).

Well, I'm not going to argue with any of that. I am not great at communicating in-game myself, but I put that on myself. As avid readers of this forum may recognize, I am trying to figure out design concepts that have a compromise between the maybe-more-than-desired need for communication in Full Diplomacy and Anonymous. A middle ground is sought. We kind of had that in Fall of Rome where communication was through the game, but I can't stop players emailing each other or friends joining in Steel. Still working on it.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Looks like the above post got a little butchered in translation so for clarity sake we have 10 players and need 2 more to step up to the fight. Come one, come all (well, two...)

Was wondering - how are the player positions going to be distributed for this game?

Saw suggestions of picking three you do not like to play and picking three you do like to play.

Cheers, all.

I think first come by sign up order Smile. Yeah that would be great!

Three do's and three don't may as well just send in a ranking of your kingdom preference and see what you get.

Fairest way would be random selection of player order then by each players kingdom list. Last three kingdoms not taken are not in game but announced at start up.

Send either 3 preferences, or 3 "not those", or send nothing.
