I'm sure its not the way for less than very experienced players to learn the game, and positive feedback so far is only from the players who are doing well, since it is anonymous. I'm pretty sure we'll have lots of different views once the first is over, and that how many kingdoms play is quite a bit different. I'd also like to work on refining the anonymous to "initially anonymous", but that's not really part of our current development plan.
I would think that allowing players to send each other messages via the turn entry program would add a layer of coolness to the game. As long as real names and or emails are not exchanged then you are only able to communicate via in game messages. I like the idea of a slow exchange of information. It should take at least 2 or 3 turns to even agree to ally. Want to trade for food for next winter? You better start sending messages at the end of summer. It actually makes the communications feel more realistic in some sense.
