New idea
#1
How about being able to garroson pcs with brigades? Qualified groups would still have to recruit them, but would be able to transfer them to a PC and from the PC to any other groups. Only btigades that have a maintanance cost or only human brigades should be able to do this. Also limit the number based on type of PC. Village only a few brigades, a town up to about 8-10, a city 20? Unlimited?  The total amount would be limited by how much in maintanance you can afford. What do other players and Rick, uncle mike think of this idea?

I like the idea. Maybe garrisoned PCs would be like a bonus to status quo as well?

Like it... but what happens if you lose the pc politically?

Maybe, instead of limiting the number of brigades that can be housed in a PC, the defense value of the brigades, when added up, cannot exceed half the present strength of the PC. That way, if the PC was flipped using emmies, the garrisoned brigades would be peacefully booted out without the need for bloodshed.

We had garrisoned brigades in Fall of Rome, if you built a barracks.  We are doing lots of PC improvements in Maelstrom.

I would think it would be hard to sway a PC with an armed garrison located there especially if the lands are thriving (region controlled; Friendly or Tolerant reaction) under the current ruling kingdom. Its one thing to sway a town full of civilians but when there is a small army stationed there, that should count as a serious impediment to overthrowing the current government.

But what if you bribe the troops Smile

If the pc is taken by emmissary uprising, then the troops simply disband, but that garrison would make it more difficult to rebel in the first place.
