5302 - Forum diplomacy with every turn result that ends a season
#1
Mayday, Mayday!

Forum Steel

Scratch that itch with a new adventure in the Maelstrom.

We'll do the forum diplomacy with every turn result that ends a season, i.e., when your turn results are in hand and it is "Late (Season)", you can communicate on the forum until the results are released that say "Early".

Let's try this restriction: no Non-Aggression Pacts at large.  Any pact regarding temporarily forestalling hostility has to be specific, regarding named territory.  So an agreement can be reached such as, "I will send you 20,000 gold this turn for your oath to not move on Stormgate for 3 turns."  But not, "The Elves and Dark Elves agree to no hostility for 3 turns."   You can say, "I will take no action in Krynn for your promise to take no action in The Crown Islands for 3 turns".

No agreements that last beyond the season they are made (3 turns max).

It would be fun if some characters kidnapped or captured can be ransomed back.  That is a missing piece especially in Silent games, as is, of course, Trade.

Let us say you may declare one ally (only).  If you wish to switch, you'll have to declare the existing ally neutral.

So, plan your trades.  Grab the Halfling and other Trick of the Trade kingdoms.  Capture that noble of a rich kingdom and ransom him.

Should be fun and a bit different twist.

1. Valuthor - The Untamed Lands - Lizard King
2. Strylin - The Crown Islands - Illusionist
3. Brek - Sword Coast - Ancients
4. DuPont - Triumvia - Underworld
5. VBM - Nyvaria - Amazons
6. AlatarTBW - Diamond Coast - Necromancer
7. Canticar - Zanthia - Dwarves
8. Drogo - Pellinor - Rangers
9. Diamond Cutter - Darkover - Cimmerians
10. Son of Conan - Mythgar - Black Dragons
]11. Ashgar - Krynn - Red Dragon
12. Painted Man - Zamora - Atlantians

To be clear, I think that means we can boast and threaten and cajole after turn 1 runs and then turns 4, 7, etc....

So no communication before turn 1?
Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes, they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.

Come On,
People Now,
Smile on Your Brother,
Everybody Come Together,
Try to Love One Another

Is it really so cryptic, or is it we make it so....

Does the turn you have say "Late Season"? Hmmm? Not on T0, it says, Mid, I believe. When it says, "Late", then chat it up.

So, on T1, you can place your Baron in that awkward spot. And then, let's discuss....

Welcome Lords and Ladies, Wrinkled Ones and Horny Toads. Welcome to the Bigtop and the Greatest Show on Earth. Your eyes will be amazed and your mind will be blown by the Magic of our realm.

We would now like to entertain you you with the wonder of our act. Watch us pull a rabbit out of our hat.
Shazam, wait, what, that’s not a rabbit. It’s a Dwarf with rabbit ears. We will have to work on that one.

Now down to business

IL-CI we have a town in your region. We would prefer to keep it until the next Council of the Kingdoms. We also found one of you villages in our region. We would be willing to reciprocate and leave your village until the next Counsel.

IL-RD we have a village in your area. We would also like to keep it until the next counsel but we understand your hunger. So we will not be offended if you need to take it.

IL- All we are looking for a trading partner to ally with and to trade with and split the profits.

This has to be the worst day ever. Imagine this chain of events:
1) You wake up from a multi-thousand year nap.
2) You discover that not only is the world no longer covered in water, but that your ancestral home is being invaded by desert!
3) The kid you used to babysit gets elected to the High Council and is known as an "Ancient One".
4) You see that "here there be dragons" is an actual thing, and no longer just something clever thrown onto the corner of a map.
5) You find out that your spouse woke up about an hour before you and has already started redecorating. With the help of the Sacred Pool boy.
6) You discover that every single bottle of wine in the royal cellar has long since turned to vinegar.

It's enough to make you want to go back to sleep.

It shall take some time to acclimate to this "brave new world". While we attempt to do that, leave us alone. As long as the rest of you stay off our oceans and out of Zamora, we'll get along just fine. Other than to defend our meager interests, we don't intend to do much beyond recover from the absolute worst case of "bed head" and build some boats. Big boats.

Time to go wake up the rest of the kingdom. We'll start with the wine makers.

Has Turn 1 run already?
