Online Game Queue
#1
Alamaze Game Queue is now online!

Use the new online system to create and join games! Chat with your friends! You can also drop from a game to free a subscription slot to join a new game.

Access the new system by clicking on the Game Queue link located on the left panel after logging in. If you are a new player or are not currently in a game, you will be automatically redirected to the Game Queue after you login for your convenience. It is best to view the game queue page in full screen mode.

You'll be able to create quite a few game possibilities:
  • Single Player Games (Steel, Primeval, Duel)
  • Team Games (Magic, Warlord, Titan)
  • Special Games (Confederation, Confluence, Slugfest)
  • Maps (Classic from 1980, Resurgent, Centauria, and soon, Maelstrom)
  • Random or Fixed City Placement
  • Draft (5 Different Versions)
For example, if you want a longer game than usual, create one with the options of Random Cities, Pagan, and Anonymous. No one will be able to divine pc's or share them via email so you'll have to search for them the good ole' fashioned way.

To update your browser, hold down the Shift key while you press the browser refresh button. You will need to do this at the Login page as well as the Home page of the order entry website. You may also have to refresh every menu tab depending upon your browser. If you are using a tablet, you'll have to clear your own browser cache (follow the instructions at the end of this posting: http://kingdomsofarcania.net/forum/showt...9#pid32189).

Have fun!

Thanks. As with anything new, especially something of this magnitude, there may be some hiccups along the way until we work out all the kinks. To show the complexity of the site, there are quite a few game combinations that may be created:

Single Victory Games:
1 type (steel) x 2 total players (10, 12) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (normal, rex, artifacts) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 6 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders, draft A, draft B) = 648 different combinations!

Team Victory (Multi-Player) Games:
1 type (magic) x 2 total players (10, 12) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (team 6, 7, 8) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 6 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders, draft A, draft B) = 648 different combinations!

1 type (warlord) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (team 6, 7, 8) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 5 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders, draft C) = 270 different combinations!

1 type (titan) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (team 6, 7, 8) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 5 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders, draft D) = 270 different combinations!

Special Contests:
1 type (primeval) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (normal, rex, artifacts) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 4 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders) = 216 different combinations!

1 type (slugfest) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (normal, rex, artifacts) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 6 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders, draft A, draft B) = 324 different combinations!

1 type (confluence) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (normal, rex, artifacts) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 4 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders) = 216 different combinations

1 type (confederation) x 3 maps (classic, resurgent, maelstrom) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 3 victory conditions (team 6, 7, 8) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 5 options (none, exploratory, pagan, 4 orders, draft E) = 270 different combinations!

1 type (duel) x 1 map (centauria) x 2 city (fixed, random) x 2 victory conditions (conqueror, artifacts) x 3 communications (full, partial, anon) x 3 options (none, exploratory, 4 orders) = 36 different combinations!

Total possibilities:  648 + 648 + 270 + 270 + 216 + 324 + 216 + 270 + 36 = 2,898 different combinations!

And that's just 3rd Cycle's The Choosing! If you add 2nd Cycle and Maelstrom, that's another 6,000 game possibilities added! Good luck testing all of that Smile

Forgot to consider "none" as a valid option since a game may be created without any options at all. The above also now considers that Steel and Magic games may have either a 10- or 12-player option. Considering these factors boosts the total to nearly 3,000 different combinations!

About drafting, all drafts work by having you select 'x' number of kingdoms at the time of signing up for the game. When the game starts, the computer will determine your kingdom(s) based upon the draft format (A-E). If you wish for a more controlled version of a draft where you select a kingdom based on what was previously chosen then you will need to request a customized game (forum). Customized games may also have additional charges due to the manual labor involved in creating the game instead of the automated format of the game queue.

BTW, for anonymous games, the player's persona will be replaced by a generic "Player #" value as a placeholder in the game queue. The number suffix in that name (e.g., Player 1) has no significance and may change if another player joins the game at a different draft position (A-E). But that is just the sorted display of the game queue. Your chosen draft letter/position does not change for the game. If people become confused about this, I could change the generic name to be just "Player" and drop the number suffix since this is just a placeholder.

This may be a silly question, but where does one actually sign up?  I am not seeing the 'Game queue' link anywhere (just the old Fall of Rome queue at fallofromegame.com and the initial signup form for new players at https://www.alamaze.co/sign-up/ ).  Perhaps my service level is not high enough yet?

When you log in the same GUI you enter your orders on is the one with the link on the left hand side of the GUI

So what i am looking for is a game i can create with up to 50 turns but i dont want a map crowded with 10 players and no wizards. How do i do that? Can you change the bar to specifically set the number of players per game? Does the code have a minimum and maximum player/game set already?

To piggy back on that. Could there be a filter for what kingdoms are allowed or excluded?

By the way this tool looks awesome! Thanks so much for the work you put into it.
